A Special Thank You to PHS Student Volunteers
This past Saturday brought mild temperatures and plenty of sunshine for our Annual Community Green Day. The vision of the event is to encourage us all to care for our environment as well as the people who live in it. More than 60 students and adults gathered this year to exemplify this vision. 
AP Physics Learns at Cedar Point
Mr. Henninger's AP Physics class made their annual trip to the Physics day at Cedar Point. This day involves the testing of gravitational fields and experiencing the kinematic and dynamic motion concepts learned in the AP Physics classroom this year. 
Senior Parents...
Celebrate your favorite senior’s graduation with balloons and customized ‘Perry’ Hershey bar.  Order forms are also available in the PHS Office & Media Center.  Paid orders are due May 28th and will be delivered during the Senior Breakfast on May 31st.  
Jared Champion "Enjoying the Ride"
Jared Champion, Class of 2011, is biking over 4,000 miles from Baltimore, MD to Portland, OR this summer to raise money and awareness about cancer.  
Thank You Film Festival Sponsors
Perry High Productions would like to thank the local businesses and patrons for sponsoring our 6th Annual Perry High School Film Festival. This year, $500 in prize money was awarded to the students for films they created as part of the Media classes at PHS.  
Kendra Lutes Receives Roger Grein Spirit of Philanthropy Award
Magnified Giving presents this award each year to one student who best embodies the spirit of philanthropy that the program strives to teach. Kendra headed up the PSL Student Philanthropy Program in its inaugural year. 
All’s Fair in “Love” and Tennis

Perry High School’s Boys Tennis is back in action this season. While working hard on the courts, the Varsity and JV teams have been improving greatly this year. Coaches Mr. and Mrs. Walker have been directing the team to greatness working on fun and intense drills
improving accuracy and endurance.

“Draft Day” Set to Shoot in Cleveland

Emmy and Oscar winner Kevin Costner will be headed to Cleveland to play the Browns' GM in a football-related film directed by Ivan Reitman. The film will be called "Draft Day." The Browns were “competing” with the Bills to see which city the movie would be shot in, and because of the better tax incentives in Ohio, we beat them out, saving Reitman’s film about 3.5 million of budget expenditure.
 
PHS Envirothon Team Takes 3rd
The Perry Red Envirothon team placed 3rd at the Area 2 Envirothon (17 county area of northeast Ohio) and qualified for the Ohio Envirothon to be held June 10 & 11 at Deer Creek State Park Lodge.  
Theatre Guild Recognition & Ice Cream Social
The Perry Schools Theatre Guild invite Middle and High School thespians, crewmembers, technicians, the Buccaneer Show Choir, Buc Band members and their parents to attend the annual Recognition Program and Ice Cream Social on Wednesday, May 22.  
Alexa Roberts Wins Big

Recently at Perry High School, Senior Alexa Roberts won the Franklin B. Walter scholarship. After spending much time planning and writing her essay, her hard work finally paid off.
 
A Walk Down Memory Lane: Past PHS Yearbooks for Sale
The Perry High School yearbook staff is now offering previous school yearbooks dating back from 1993.  A limited stock of extra books are in the school’s possession and by selling these we can lower the cost of the yearbook for future years. Limited copies are available and in-stock and there will be no re-prints of any book.
